If you have any intention of playing or finishing Hellblade;
this article does contain major spoilers.  So, read at your own risk.
ALSO THIS IS A LONG-ASS POST so.....

After 3 months of juggling responsibilities; (sandwiched between other games and all-nighter workloads) I've managed to finally finish Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice.

It's a first-person, action-adventure indie game in a dark fantasy setting; specifically the Nordic age- Vikings! It caught my attention one sizzling summer sale on Steam; it was 80% off and Senua's face was just too enchanting.
Look at those eyes! She's batshit crazy! I love it!
Hellblade is a story about a Pict warrior who travels through Helheim in order to retrieve the soul of her dead loved one. The game is comprised of puzzle-solving and hack-and-slash fight scenes.

Now that I've gone through Senua's adventure, here is my say:

Graphics, Character Design and Audio
The characters in this game are really appealing in an artistic and representational sense. I see Senua alone as flawless, and ironically it's because of her amazing flaws: crazy eyes, asymmetrical face and the no-shower-all-power vibe.

- a gameplay of my favorite part of the game -

The entire game is lush with on-point lighting effects, I'm talking about when the sun hits your POV and you get second-blinding-glimps. (I don't know what you call them) The scenes where you enter these dream-like and nightmarish episodes are very convincing.
The fight scenes are also really vibrant, the contrasts are high. There are pitch darks and bloody reds it's like visual orgasm. I'd give it a 7.5/10 and mostly it's because of the astonishing visuals.
Got this from the Official Site
The SFX is really interesting, especially the different personalities that surround Senua. If you're familiar with ASMR there are moments that feel like that. It's when some sounds or voices are heard exclusively on your left ear only and others on your right. They get loud and soft randomly so there's this tingling sensation.

commercial coming through..
I occasionally listen to ASMR Darling. It's a long story how I stumbled on ASMR shit.
Senua
In the first few minutes of the game, it's almost easy to tell that there is something not quite right with Senua. There are voices surrounding her, like mites crawling in and out of the hive, they are present all throughout the game.
I don't want to say more about these voices, in case you want to play the game.
A social outcast, she has this meek but brave personality about her. She feels like someone who would shy away in groups but in an instant will stab you in the eyes, no hesitations, if you hurt her loved ones.
Her energy spikes and drops unpredictably and it just shows how difficult it is for her to keep intact throughout the journey. It's admirable how she bravely deals with these raw and intense episodes almost all the time.

Because of this honesty; her very flawed and unsettled, but determined, personality, I loved her instantly.

Senua's predicament is something anyone can relate to, given that the summary of her situation is actually universal;
Facing Your Demons.

standby for Part 2, I'm seriously haggard right now.
